LINCOLN

The City of Lincoln has been one of Northern California's best-kept secrets until recently. Today Lincoln is experiencing a rapid growth, and city leaders are working to retain its small town atmosphere with broad tree-lined streets and a downtown plaza.

The goal of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce is to foster a progressive business climate while maintaining a desirable balance of employment facilities and supportive housing for its residents. Lincoln’s ‘No Hassle’ processing of business applications and a desire to expand the business community, makes Lincoln one of the easiest places to conduct business.

One of the city's many activities is the nationally known "Feats of Clay" art festival and competition, which is held each spring. Artists from around the United States display their works at the historic Gladding McBean Factory, the largest terra cotta plant west of the Mississippi.

Traditional city events include a Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks, a Wine and Food tasting event, and a Downtown Holiday and Tree Lighting Celebration held each December.

Lincoln is located near the Sierra Nevada foothills, off US Highway 65 and close to Interstate 80. Sacramento is 45 minutes to the southwest, and the Sacramento International Airport is just a 25-minute drive from Lincoln.

A trip to San Francisco from Lincoln takes 1-3/4 hours, and the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and its Ski Resorts are 1-1/2 hours to the east.

ROCKLIN

Rocklin is a fast growing community and today, software, high tech manufacturing and numerous service firms are choosing the City of Rocklin for its quality of life in a foothill environment.

The City’s recorded history begins 150 years ago when Joel Parker Whitney established Spring Valley Ranch. Over the years, 25 miles of crushed stone roads, 12 granite bridges, horse stables, barns, and housing for 200 ranch hands and their families were all constructed on this sprawling 30,000 acres, then becoming the first developed property in Rocklin.

After the last Whitney family member died in 1926, the ranch began to deteriorate and the former Spring Valley Ranch is now the master-planned communities of Stanford Ranch and Whitney Oaks. As Rocklin evolved, the city saved many of the original granite bridges used to cross the creeks on the Spring Valley Ranch, and the City’s Recreation Commission designed parks to include it’s bridges.

The City’s original claim to fame came with the mining of granite. In 1910, 22 quarries operated in Rocklin and, in 1912, nearly 2,000 train carloads of granite were sent out of town. Granite for the state capitol and many of the buildings in San Francisco came from Rocklin quarries. Today, Rocklin granite is as popular as ever, finding its way to kitchen counters and monument signs throughout the region.

Premier residential communities, excellent schools, well-preserved, natural open spaces and extensive park system, have all transformed the City of Rocklin into one of the region's most beautiful locations.

Located off Interstate Highway 80, Rocklin is 35 minutes northeast of Sacramento and a 30-minute drive to the Sacramento International Airport.

San Francisco is 1-3/4 hours away to the southwest and the North Shore of Lake Tahoe and all its Ski Resorts, 1-1/2 hours to the southeast.
