Developer Sammy Cemo is expanding his portfolio to include retail. Cemo has 20 buildings planned for the new year and is expecting to build 274,000 square feet in the El Dorado, Sacramento and Placer county, spending $40 million. Half of the buildings will be in retail and 1/3 of the square footage.
While office leasing has slowed down, retailers are continuing to grow to keep pace with the thousands of homes being built in the area.
